A Board of Trustees, who provide their services on a voluntary basis, meet every six weeks to discuss any applications that have been received, and then funding for the projects is decided at these meetings. These may often include visits to meet with community projects or charities however, with many of the Trustees being Islington based for quite a number of years, they tend to have a good knowledge of those doing great work in the community.
The Trustees include, Morris Family members, Jack Morris CBE (Chairman of the BDC, MCT as well as The Brain Tumour Charity), Paul Morris OBE, Linda Morris, Lucie Grant and Marc Morris. In addition members of the BDC Board, Dominic Jones (BDC CEO) and Kate Vandenburg (BDC Marketing & Communications Director) have been Trustees for a number of years and in the past year, Carly King (BDC Property Manager) also joined the team.
Have been running for over 30 years the MCT has helped a significant number of charities and community projects, predominantly based in the London Borough of Islington. In fact, since its inception, the Trust has donated to hundreds of worthwhile causes, and the team truly enjoy being a part of Islington’s philanthropic community.
The Morris Charitable Trust is a founding member of Islington Giving, the very first giving of its kind. Annual contributions support the work of Islington Giving and a member of the MCT Board has long sat on the Board with the intention of providing support in any way possible as a business. This often included support on campaign communications and helping with projects that can facilitate the use of the building or our media channels.
