Our new series, In Conversation With…, gives us an opportunity to meet some of the community that call the BDC home to their business. With a diverse and eclectic mix of companies in the venue, across offices, showrooms and our co-working space, we are lucky to have some amazing and interesting people under our roof. This month we are in conversation with Karen Ashworth from Eclisse UK, who moved in to the BDC last year.
Tell us a bit about your company and your role there…
Eclisse UK was established in 2001 – We have been the driving force in the development and growth of the pocket door market in the UK. As the showroom manager for Eclisse UK I am able to guide you through all our displays and the variations of our sliding pocket door systems.

How long have you been at BDC?
Eclisse Pocket Door Systems and Karis Glass launched their Future of Doors showroom at the Business Design Centre on 21st Sept 2018. We celebrated with an afternoon launch party which included staff from our parent company in Italy and also key distributers and customers.
Why did your company choose BDC as your home?
As soon as we walked into the Business Design Centre we knew this was the venue for us. It was a combination of the space on offer the helpful staff and the fact that there were many other companies already in situ showcasing products of interest to architects and interior designers.
What’s the best part of being based at BDC and in this area?
The Business Design Centre is in a great location in the heart of Islington.
What’s 2019 got in store/what’s next for your business?
2019 is going to be a really busy year for us. Now that we have a central London showroom we can start to promote our Syntesis® Flush Collection which is a complete range of flush or architrave free products that work in harmony with each other. The collection features a pocket door system without jambs or architrave a concealed hinged door frame for a flush finish a flush riser door system and a flush skirting board adapter. The showroom has also given us the space to have full sized displays of stunning Glass Pocket Door Systems which are proving really popular.
