It’s common knowledge that Angel, Islington is a destination in its own right when it comes to dining and entertainment, but there’s another side to the lively district which caters for the health and wellbeing of its frequenters.
Studios, spas and niche wellness activities line the streets in almost equal measure to the bars and pubs of Upper Street and the vicinity, providing an offering to take care of yourself, no matter what your taste. Find out more about some of our personal favourites…
Complete Pilates
Recently opened at the BDC, the team at Complete Physio have brought us the most stylish transformation in their new studio with Complete Pilates. This physio-led Pilates offering is for everyone; whether it’s complimenting your exercise programme or needed for more specialist reasons such as managing acute or chronic pain or part of your rehab or recovery to get you back to normal activity – this team are for you. Floatworks
If you’re looking to unwind and carve out some tranquillity in your schedule then this might be for you. Floatworks offers the opportunity to lie back in one of their world-leading floatation tanks to experience a blissful, healing state. The individual pods contain half a tonne of Epsom salt in the water, allowing you to float effortlessly. Matching the temperature of your skin the water and air, give the feeling of complete weightlessness and one the initial music ends you can float in light or darkness for the duration of the hour. Frame Angel
As the Frame themselves say, if variety is the spice of life then Frame is your spice rack. No matter your mood, goal or fitness level there is a class available at their expertly designed studio in the heart of Angel. From 80’s aerobics and musically themed classes (think Take That, Beyoncé and Britney) to core and strength sessions, there’s something for everyone. Revolution Personal Training Studios
If group classes aren’t quite your thing then Revolution offer one to one training in their studio onsite at the Business Design Centre. They’ve been based in Islington for well over a decade and have a track record for getting results, no matter what your goals might be. Third Space

At the heart of the newly opened facilities in trendy Islington Square, their world-class equipment includes a custom-built track, athletic rig, and performance cardio areas with Myzone heart-rate connectivity to help you train with precision. Barrecore Islington
World renowned and popular with the likes of Claudia Schiffer, Pippa Middleton, Rita Ora and Poppy Delevingne, Barrecore classes contain elements of ballet, yoga and Pilates – but are as tough as a spinning or bootcamp sessions.
